Episode 9: MMP Podcast with Easter Seals BC

Dear Meeting Mighty People fans!

Today I am happy to announce that I have a new Meeting Mighty People Podcast episode number 9.

The reason why I choose to highlight Easter Seals BC on my MMP Podcast is because, I now know and feel that Easter Seals BC can provide a sense of independence and comfort when children and youth with disabilities are away from their families at camp.

I can honestly say that people that run the camp, such as Dale Kilgour and the people on the Easter Seals Board, such as Marco Pasqua, have attitudes that inspire campers to be themselves.

I really learned that Easter Seals is there for you, to allow you to be a kid, to be free and play like anyone and everyone. This freeness can be difficult for children and youth with disabilities to experience due to the lack of accessible places and the attitudes about people and their abilities.

Easter Seals Camps are proudly supported by the BC Lions Society. The camps are fully accessible and include fun activities such as swimming, rock climbing, face painting, camping and campfires and much more. After listening to Marco and Dale talk about camp, I think that I would really enjoy attending one of these camps in the near future!

I host Alexis Folk. I would appreciate it if you could keep in mind that adaptations are a good thing because it allows others to see the world differently than you do. Having a disability is a blessing in some ways because everyone has a different view and perspective on life.

Have fun and enjoy the new MMP Podcast!
